I recently read an interesting article from the National Law Review about the impact of the coronavirus on commercial landlords (link follows below). I found the following top takeaways from the article:

• Review any loan documents that you have associated with your commercial property; there may be particular covenants that you're required to keep
• Contact your lender; ask if any of the covenants or requirements of your loan can be adjusted
• Use this information to work with your tenant; your willingness to work with your tenant could be beneficial for you in the long term

Bottom line: communicate early and often with your lenders and your tenants. I am confident that if we work together, we will find solutions that can be beneficial to all parties.
