Need a healthy activity to focus on?
I am sure you may have been wondering about the fate of this year’s Clinic Classic Run/Walk, scheduled for April 25. With the rapid spread of coronavirus forcing event cancellations everywhere, the Community Medical Clinic (CMC) has decided that a traditional race isn’t in the cards while trying to practice responsible social distancing to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19. Having said that, we’re very happy to share that we are NOT canceling the race! Instead, our team put our heads together and came up with a creative idea to pivot this year’s Run/Walk so we can continue to support community health, which is now more important than ever.
Every member of your household can participate in the Clinic Classic Camden Family Care 1-mile, McDonald’s 5K or KershawHealth 8K by running it, walking it, and supporting it virtually. It's still a go! We're just going to host it in a little different way, so we can all keep our distance.
The new Virtual Clinic Classic event will take place between April 25 and May 9. That’s a period of two weeks instead of just one day. Participants can pick a time and place that is convenient for them while keeping their physical distance from others. They can use a treadmill or find their favorite course outdoors.

Your support is more important than ever so that CMC can provide medical care to our patients, keeping them out of the emergency room and out of harm’s way. With the current strain on emergency room resources due to the huge influx of COVID-19 patients, this work is more critical than ever! All proceeds from the Virtual Clinic Classic will directly benefit the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County. Learn more at http://www.cmcofkc.org.
On behalf of all of us at CMC, THANK YOU for making this pivot with us to benefit our community and provide a fun way for all of us to lower our stress and improve our overall well-being.
In health and gratitude
