I have been reviewing information, participating in conference calls, and talking to local business leaders this week in an effort to be THE resource for local businesses. Being THE resource for businesses is part of our mission and that is even more important today and going forward!

I had two great conversations today. The first was early this morning with the Chamber Board of Directors. I was impressed and not surprised at the comments of concern about employees and customers, and other businesses in our community. The group shared their new "normal" and offered ideas for how to support one another and other local businesses. And just like we are here for you, they are also here for you. All of these businesses are working on activities to support and help the community.

The second conversation was with a small group of business owners to learn more about their current challenges, and the challenges they expect to face in the future. The importance of sharing information and communication was one takeaway from the meeting. Please know that I am working diligently to learn as much as I can and share that information with you in chunks that are easier to "digest." However, during my conversations with individual businesses, I am finding that they didn't know about the information we are posting on our website and updating daily. Overall, I have a great sense of pride for the caring community that we live in and I am more confident than ever, that by working together we will persevere.
