Description

Lyceum Series Program. October 12, 3-5 p.m. Kershaw-Cornwallis House. Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site. In the spring of 2014, a group of volunteer archaeologists conducted a two-day salvage excavation project at Historic Camden in an effort to recover information that would be lost as a result of a sewer system project the City of Camden was installing in the area. Chad Long, a resident of Camden and archaeologist with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, will present an overview of the project and display some of the artifacts found during the mini dig. The presentation, held in conjunction with South Carolina Archaeology Month, is open to the public and light refreshments will be served after the program. For further information, please contact Historic Camden, 222 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020, (803) 432-9841, www.historic-camden.net.
